Fleas are almost never photographed and logged, so this is the pattern a named source describes, not a count. Outdoors they spend the winter as larvae or pupae and come back with the warm weather.

What a yard flea problem looks like.
Most outdoor flea problems show up on the pet first. These are six of the signs people notice, and what each one tells us. We treat outdoors only.
A pet that scratches more after time in the yard is often the first sign. Check with your vet on prevention too.
Small itchy bumps in a little cluster around the ankles. Fleas jump from the grass and shade, so ankles get hit first.
Comb your pet over a damp paper towel. Dark specks that spread a reddish ring are flea dirt, not soil.
The same dark specks in a pet bed. We do not treat indoors, so wash the bedding and talk to your vet.
A worn path into a gap under the deck means a raccoon, opossum or stray is living there and dropping fleas.

Find where pets rest
We ask where your pets spend time and where wildlife gets in, then look for shade, leaf litter and damp spots along the house, under decks and beside the doghouse. We look for tick and mosquito spots on the same walk.
Treat the shady spots
The fog goes into the shade, leaf litter, ground cover and plants where flea larvae survive and mosquitoes rest, not across open sunny lawn. Treatment stays outdoors. We do not treat fleas inside the house.
Come back on schedule
Pets, strays and wildlife keep bringing fleas back, so one visit is not the fix. Every 30 to 45 days is the schedule we recommend, and 60 or 90 days are there too. Coming less often costs more per visit, not less.

Do you treat fleas inside the house?
No. We treat the yard only. Once fleas breed indoors, most of the problem is eggs in the carpet, not adults on the pet, and that needs an interior treatment we do not do. Call an interior flea specialist and your vet. Treating the yard still helps by cutting what your pet brings in.
Is flea control part of Honorable Shield?
No. Outdoor fleas come with Mosquito Shield, an add-on to any plan or on its own. It covers mosquitoes, ticks and outdoor fleas together.
How much does it cost?
Mosquito Shield is priced by the size of your lot, not your house. At half an acre it is $117 a visit every 30 to 45 days, $137 every 60 days or $157 every 90 days. A single one-time visit starts at $347. There are no discounts.
How often should the yard be treated?
You choose every 30 to 45 days, every 60 days or every 90 days. We recommend 30 to 45. Coming less often costs more per visit, not less.
Where do fleas in the yard come from?
Animals. Your own pet, and the raccoons, opossums, stray cats and rodents that pass through or live under a deck. Fleas drop off where those animals rest, in shade and leaf litter, and the next generation grows there.
Why does my pet keep getting fleas when it is on prevention?
Because the yard keeps supplying them. If wildlife or strays keep fleas going in the shady spots outside, your pet walks back into them every day. Treating those spots cuts the supply. Keep the prevention going as well.
Can yard treatment guarantee that the fleas will not come back?
No. It cuts the numbers where we treat. Pets, rodents, strays and wildlife bring fleas back in. Pair it with your vet's prevention and less of what draws wildlife into the yard.
Is it safe for my pets?
We follow the label and tell you how long to keep pets and people off treated areas before we start. Bring in bowls, food and toys while we work, and follow the re-entry instructions the technician gives you.
